Artist's Comments

After a whole year after posting the work in progress, this portrait is finally over! I must say that, I am really proud of it.

I spend such a long time on it, on and off through the summer, school and everything else. I've been procrastinating a lot. But this was a big exercise for my eyes and also a color exercise. This is my 2nd try on a colored portrait with the same subject as the first time; the Gazette's vocalist : Ruki. I really enjoyed to draw him. I'm quite happy with the result.

It's the first time I spend so long on a project. There was some time I wanted to abandon it and move on, but the comments I received on [link] cheered me up. Thank you. I think that without you guys, this would of been left somewhere in my room.

Tools: Prismacolor scholar coloring pencils, colored inks and much love to the eraser.
Reference used.

Done on a illustration board of 13.5 in x 20 in. (Something that I probably will not try anytime soon)

Wow! This came out amazingly good! You did a great job with his clothes are really nice with all the textures and the highlights and colors. Yeah, and the skin is really nice too, and his face, his lips.. oh and, well, I think I like everything about this drawing. :D it's definitively a fav! :+favlove:

You should be proud this came out marvelously. I love the colors used on the lips and I really adore your fabrics xD It's so hard to get some to read as the right fabrics and these clearly do.

I am new to this site and new to art, so not sure if my opinion matters much, but that piece is Amazing! The colors just pop out at you. Beautiful work and I am impressed by the size. Thanks for the work in progress...excellent!

No prob^^ Yeah, and clothes are quite hard to draw that realistic as you did. And one more thing, I really think this drawing is one of your very best works! :D
